Eric L. Wasserman, M.D., F.A.C.S. is our Medical Director and Founder. He began practicing ophthalmology in 1984. He is a graduate of New York Medical College and New York Medical College of Ophthalmology Residency Program. Dr. Wasserman served as a Medical Intern for one year of critical care training in Internal Medicine at Yale's affiliate hospital- Danbury Medical Center. Subsequently, he completed as fellowship in Anterior Segment Surgery at the John H. Sheets Eye Foundation. This foundation has contributed to the introduction of many techniques currently used in modern cataract surgery. Dr. Wasserman has published numerous articles in Scientific Journals and has spent many years of teaching Cataract Surgery to ophthalmology residents, as well as to practicing ophthalmologists.
Dr. Wasserman is Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He has been recognized as a Top Ophthalmologist by New York magazine's Top Doctors Metro Area, America's Top Ophthalmologists by Consumer Research Council of America, Castle Connolly's Best Doctors New York Metro Area since its inception, and Connecticut Magazine's Top Doctors annual issues.
Dr. Wasserman is a Fellow with American Academy of Ophthalmology from which he has received a Lifelong Learning Recognition Award, and a member of the Connecticut Society of Eye Physicians. Dr. Wasserman has been on the attending staff at Stamford Hospital Medical Center since 1988.
Dr. Wasserman provides comprehensive ophthalmic care with subspecialties in Glaucoma, Dry Eye, and complex Anterior Segment Ophthalmic conditions.
Vicky Soldatos, ODjoined the practice of The EyeCare Center in February of 2005. A 1985 graduate of St. John’s University, she received her Doctorate of Optometry from the New England College of Optometry in 1989. Dr. Soldatos is an Advanced Practice Certified Optometrist and licensed to practice in the State of NY and CT. Prior to joining us she was practicing for 14 years in New York in a private Ophthalmology practice.Dr. Soldatos’s areas of interest and specialty include Contact Lens fitting and evaluation for Myopia, Hyperopia, Astigmatism, Presbyopia (Bifocals), and Keratoconus. She provides general eye examinations for adults and adolescents, diagnoses and treats eye diseases. Dr. Soldatos is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Connecticut Association of Optometrists. She resides in Trumbull with her husband and daughter.
